Youtube has been the source of family after-dinner fun time lately with my 3 1/2 year old son Nathan. He's already an internet addict. Problem is finding "safe" videos to watch, as a lot of the content there is ah ... mature. Trying to avoid things that will give him bad dreams or warp his brain too much.

Here are a few of Nathan's favorites:

Any of the Will It Blend series

Nice Pants!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tlkd45W4TWU

One week of Japanese wall painting
http://youtube.com/watch?v=jtzdxseO-gs

Funny cat video compilation :)
http://youtube.com/watch?v=MQ4vmSvCVbc

Looking for some more videos that are entertaining for pre-K kiddies and mom and dad -- post 'em here!

Mike, this has to be one of my all-time favs. Watch the fire hydrant go flying into the folk's yards upon impact!

Funny, but sorry, not what I'd call Pre-K appropriate. I'm not interested in showing my son people doing stupid things or getting hurt.

There are a thousand threads on various forums about funny and stupid youtube videos, but I've really been having a hard time finding links for age-appropriate clips. Something more interactive than plopping Nathan down in front of the TV to watch Dora, Barney, or Diego.

Watching that wall painting video with him was a trip, he wanted to know what everything was...

You can try searching Crazy Frog. I wonder if any of the seventies Krofft shows (HR Pufnstuff) and/or Muppet Show sketches are there?

Get Nathan excited about physics and cars at the same time. 8)

Kinda mesmerizing, isn't it? Definitely animated, but it looks like they use "real physics".

There was an HD version of this on PBS a while back. Amazing stuff to watch.

We were watching Top Gear clips on Youtube last night --

http://youtube.com/watch?v=lfNQL0D_5VQ

Towards the end, Clarkston hits the "DSC OFF" button on the M5 and proceeds to get completely sideways in the wagon. Just when he's doing a smokey burnout around a corner on the runway, Nathan says,

"Daddy I think he pressed the FAST button"

Hahaha, I love my son :)
