No... not Thomas Edison's nemesis and the inventor(?) of Alternating Current, NOR the Lithium-Ion cell powered sports car... but the band Tesla.

Most famous for the worst song they ever recorded (their cover of Signs).

Anyway... they were on Rockline Wednesday night, and their new album just came out Tuesday... classic rock covers, mostly 70's stuff. If you want to hear the broadcast, go to www.rocklineradio.com

I'm trying to make it to Norfolk on Saturday June 23rd to see them at the Norva. If you're a fan, but you've never seen them live, you OWE it to yourself to go check them out.

Mechanical Resonance FTW.

Yes, Stacy, I like the Tesla you speak of. Heading to rockline now...

What the heck was the name of that ballad they did that was such a big hit? Something generic like "Love Song" I think. Great song.

That was the one... a little later they also did "What ya give" which was pretty popular.

IMHO, one of the most underrated rock bands of all time. They tend to get lumped into the whole hair scene, which they really are not.

I love some Tesla. I agree with Stacy, VERY underrated!

Psychotic Supper was such a great CD, had it been release a few years earlier, it surely would have been a huge hit. By 92, it was grunge and Tesla was out of vogue.

BTW, Dont hate on Signs, I like it :)

Tesla rocks! The only time I ever saw them live was at the Arizona state fair in '93. It was a great concert but kinda sad. It was a free concert with entry into the fair and it was a shock to me that they were playing because I hadn't heard anything about it beforehand, I just happened into the concert by chance. The stadium they played in wasn't even half full. I couldn't believe it as just two years beforehand the band was huge and selling out concerts all over the country. They were a victim of the "grunge" revolution and forgotten overnight along with most all the other 80s metal bands.

Anyone else see them open for Def Leppard at Reynolds back in '87?

Unlike all the other 80's bands though, they kept fighting, and released some really good albums. There was a three or so year hiatus after the mid 90's when no one was sure they'd be back, but they came back stronger than ever (musically) with the Bust a Nut CD and all was right in the world :)

Sorry, I'm even annoying myself the way I'm going on about them... but there's so much crap out there musically right now. :x

Yes I did! Having the stage in the center of the area rocked as well. I foundly remember Def Leppard's laser show too.

I agree. I'm a '80s rock fan for sure. I saw quite a few live concerts back then. I remember the stage show being as important as the music. IMO, the 'Crue' put on some of the best. I saw them at the Scope in Richmond w/ Whitesnake as the opening act...awesome. Did anyone else here see them in Chapel Hill on the Dr. Feel Good Tour?
