I just noticed this company on my bank statement charging me for a service I have never heard about nor use. Well, I know what VOIP is, but I have a regular land line.

Anyway, they were charging me $34.XX every 4-5 days and managed to rack up 4 charges before I caught it. Apparently they are doing this to others as well and none of us have any idea how they got our credit card info. There was an initial charge for $2.99 that looks like it came from Yahoo at which point the $34.XX charges started. I do have a Yahoo email address (unused for ~1 year) but that's as much contact as I've had with that company.

Obviously, I have a new card on the way already.

The charges are generally listed as "BETAMAX VOIP CRE" on statements so be careful out there!
