Our local government is trying to enact a law to make it mandatory to have front license plates on vehicles in 2008.

If you want more info take a read through our local euro forum, we have a generic letter, and we also have all of the contact info for the local senators and the transportation committee

Happy Motoring!

Ok, question. Does it matter which committee member we send this to?

I someone willing to call each senator and ask them if they support or do not support the change? I will email every one that is against it and promise them my vote, and email every one for it and promise to vote for whomever is running against them who opposes the change.

That should get more attention than just a letter that says "do n't do this, front plates suck".

Must not be getting enough return on the stop light cameras. This way they can get you no matter which direction you run the light in.

Requesting information regarding NC Senate Bill 673

Dear members of the NC Senate Transportation Committee:

My name is Michael Whitney and I am a North Carolina taxpayer and voter. I am also an automotive enthusiast and I am very active in social auto enthusiast communities. It has come to my attention recently that there is a proposal to require front license plates on vehicles registeres in North Carolina.

I am writing to ask each of you what your position is on this proposal. I plan to distribute this information to local auto enthusiast communities so they can decide for themselves in future elections for whom to vote.

I am sure you have received various letters regarding this topic and know the opinion of most people. We would like to enforce that opinion with our votes.

Please respond to this email simply stating whether you are for or against NC Senate Bill 673, and if you plan to vote for or against it when it comes to the table.

Thank You,

Michael Whitney

Nice Mike! When and if you get responses from these politicians please update this. I agree that just sending a note saying front plates sux won't work. Letting them know you would actually swing your vote due to this will hopefully raise their eyebrows a bit...

Got one already!

Neal Hunt for Senator in 2008!

He's on the good team. Or maybe he's lying. He's against it.

I'll come back and edit this post when (if?) I get some more input.

How many people here are willing to put a bumper sticker on their car decrying front license plates?

I can arrange for printing at cost. Hell, I'll help put it together.

Maybe an ITR in DS.
Or half-assed STX prepped 330.

Bumper Sticker? I would find a way to mount it on my car! Won't put a bumper sticker directly on, but will display my disgust somehow.

Mike, nice work! Knowing who we can send what info to about what we would do depending on the vote is definitely a great idea! Thanks.

I don't have a membership to nceuro, so I couldn't list it, but I have posted this in the NC owners section of mazda3forums, if you someone who does frequent nceuro wants to update the list

I've found just the thing for you, so you can put an oversize sign on your car in a way that is prominent, but doesn't interfere with your visibility: right here
