So - I just got word today that I got laid off from my job. Does anyone have anything that a computer geek/product manager/marketing manager/all around good guy could do for some $$ right now?

I need to know I have a job before I try to do One Lap! Help?!?

What a crappy day!

Sorry to hear that, Adam. :(

I'm in the same boat. I know the axe is coming my way, I just haven't gotten the official word from higher-up the food chain. At least I am supposed to get 2 months notice to find another position at Duke from that point in time (FWIW, they are hiring IT staff).

Adam, sorry to hear that! You may want to try Network Appliance or Progress Energy. I'm at Progress and things have been moving over the last few weeks. I'll try to watch and keep you posted for any openings I see internal.

Best of luck hunting!!

Also look at Credit Suisse. They are hiring LOTS of developers.

if you decide to go with Credit Suisse, let me know. I have a couple of friends that work there (dev and project management).

thanks guys for the ideas - - I have a couple of good prospects boiling right now. I have had a couple of interviews and have more scheduled. Things are looking like they should work themselves out before too long. Still crossing my fingers.

I must be feeling ok about the job thing as I am still heading to Sebring next week to do the 3 day Panoz racing school. I am either confident or stupid!
