Summer fun with Monaro replacement

The Australian-built Vauxhall VXR8 - a four-door successor to the Monaro - goes on sale in the UK in July, costing £34,995.
This version of the Holden HSV Clubsport R8 has a 6.0-litre V8 (developed from that of the Monaro) producing 420bhp and 406lb-ft of torque. It will do 0-60mph in 4.9 seconds.
Equipment includes climate control and leather upholstery, as well as stability and traction control (which can be switched off). Options include sat nav, 20" alloy wheels and, for £1,400, an auto gearbox.
