I think it is in North Raleigh. Does anyone know of a good shop in that area to have it checked out. I probably can't get up there to look at it for her.

Cline,

I would call Premium Imports on Wake Forest Road inside the beltline. The owners, Steve & Cathy, are great folks and they have been a Honda Specialist for many years. They've done stellar work on both of my Type R's, my Prelude and our Subaru.

I'm sure they have a reasonable rate for a pre-purchase inspection.

Good luck,
Matt

yup, its a rather lengthy, therefore pricey if done professionally, job

Changing the Timing Belt on and Integra? Took me about 4 hours on mine and I had never done it before.

Now on my VW thats a lengthy job... but when you have to take the whole front end of a car off to to the timming belt it makes it quite lenghty.

See BOLD text above...

I have done the timing belt on my Civic. I guess it could have taken me only 4 hours the first time if I rushed the job and didn't take my time. I am sure I could do it in that time now after having done it the first time.

I need to do the belt and waterpump in the Odyssey and it IS expensive IMHO if you have it done someplace like a dealership. I don't think it is expensive due to the amount of labor, but rather that they know they can get away with charging as much as they do. I will probably do the Odyssey myself to save money.

I've asked Gary about doing my TL soon (very similar setup, as I'm sure you know) and I think he quoted me about 600 including the waterpump, tensioner, belt, necessary seals, etc... Just fyi if you don't want to do it yourself and want a reasonable price.

I have had Craig at Carolina Imports inspect the cars I have bought if they weren't new.

Where are they located (I haven't lived in Raleigh in 20 years)

North part of Raleigh on Capital Blvd, right where 401 merges in.
