Just got a call from the dealer that our GXP just arrived!!!! Wasn't expecting it for a couple more weeks. Got to put working on the 56 Panel in high gear and find a buyer for the Miata. 8)

Now that Wes provided the Newspeak translation, I have to disagree. There are plenty of pictures of Solstice GXPs all over the internet and in magazines. Once Charles says what color the body, top and interior are, you've got it.

No, I'm not on dial-up.

The color is "mean". Pontiac thought it would be "cute" to give the colors their own names, everyone else would call it yellow. Black top and black cloth interior. It was ordered as zero optioned, except AC. Of course a lot of the amenities are standard on this car, the rest were "I don't have any use for it and it only adds extra weight" (and price!) variety. It even comes std with a DIC (no brokeback mountain comments, it stands for Driver Information Center) that gives things like average speed since last reset, average MPG, (we have averaged 26.2 MPG so far while still "playing around" with the throttle respose...) Miles left on tank, and coolest of all a numeric and bar graph BOOST gauge. :D
It will jump up to 100 in a big hurry! Sitting in the driveway next to the Miata it looks like a bulldog next to a terrier. (pics up shortly)
Wheels and tires are here as well. will get it aligned next week and hopefully take it to an event to try it out in a couple weeks.

So what do you think of the way the top works?

I've only dropped it a couple times so far, so it's stiff. Comparing it to the Miata I'd say the Miata's is a better design even tho it is not a hideaway. The Miata top can be raised and lowered from inside the car at a traffic light or even at a slow speed should it start to rain. The Sol's top you must get out of the car to pick up the cover/trunk lid raise and/or lower the top, close the coverand snap the sail panels. I have also experienced that in the right wind conditions, such as passing some trucks or sudden gusts the top will give a disconcerting "pop" like one of the sail panels has popped loose. Guess it will be something we'll get used to eventually. The top takes up almost the entire remaining "trunk" area when lowered that isn't already taken up by the gastank and rear centersection hump. In it's favor, the car looks great with the top down!
