If you check the BMW boards, you'll see that Stuart Appleby is in the process of converting a M5 into an Aussie "ute" which looks like a bastard Ranchero.

Here's the thread: http://www.m5board.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=68147

Bummer....

Quote:
Autoweek is reporting that the wagon variant of BMW's 507 HP, M5 sedan will not be coming to U.S. Bimmer dealers in the near or distant future. The boys of the spinning propeller have seen fit to deprive us, once again, of being able to haul our bird, our dog and a load from Home Depot at extra-legal speeds.

So we'll have to make due with an E63 Wagon, or accept a horsepower deficit and go with the S4 Avant.

I guess the pro golf tour doesn't keep Appleby busy enough. A high school friend of mine works for the PGA. I'll have to ask him about this.

Anyway, I think the fancy fender vents need to go in order to allow a proper vinyl woodgrain applique.

Man those cars are beautiful!

I did a jog the other day through the Carolina Country Club on Glenwood and aproached a new black 5-Series base model and then I round a turn and see a new black M5 sedan. The cosmetic difference alone was astounding. The M made the normal five series look like a base model Hyndai Sonata. :)

Not that's it's in the budget, but I'm pretty anxious to see the new M3's.
