I have yet to figure out why so many of my competitors raise the cars so high. Out lifts are pretty low profile. As was mentioned above we raise just enough to get the wheels off of the ground. I think the first safety catch engages at like 6 inches or so....

Our shop like HH deals with a lot of high end cars. Our techs are trained on how to work on them and if they aren't comfortable, they usually seek out one of the senior guys. We have customers drop wheels off too.

Accidents will happen and stuff will get damaged it is all in who is running the shop and the training level of the guys doing the work.
