No this is not for my accident, the Durango is gone! When I do something I do it right!

A friend of mine was recenlty in an accident and the at fault insurance co has given them the name of the shops they can use. I was wondering if anyone had used any of them and had any comments!

- University Automotive
- True to Form of Durham
- Rick Hendrix Chevrolet
- J.R.'s Body & Frame

Thanks!

A coworker of mine used True2Form of Durham a couple years ago and was happy with them.

I'm sure Cline would be the authority here, but it's been my understanding that they can't force you to use a particular shop.

On my claims at least ,*I* chose the shop that *I* wanted to do the work.

A few years ago we had Rick Hendrix Chevrolet fix our Integra after an accident. They did a crappy job. The door seal they installed wasn't flush and eventually ripped, and the car's had alignment problems. When I took it back to have the seal replaced after a couple of years they gave me quite a hassle.

I was never *forced* to use a shop by my insurance agent when my other car got hit. But the one they wanted me to use was on their list of preferred shops. When you use their preferred shop you don't spend a penny. The appraiser deals with the shop and the insurance company pays them directly. They also guaranteed the work for a year and guaranteed no used parts would be put on the car. It made the process simple and the shop did excellent work.

Depending on your insurance company using their preferred shops can be a good thing.

I've used hendrix before. The body work was done really well. The mechanical work they did was embarassing.
