I'm remodeling my bathroom and decided to do a stone shower area to compliment the other work that I'm doing. I will be replacing the fiberglass portion of my corner shower with stone and plan on keeping the existing frame for the glass. I need a recommendation for a good concrete worker to build the basin portion of the shower. I have no experience in this portion of remodeling so I assume it's concrete that I'm looking for but any material that matches the stone will be acceptable.

Thanks, Chris

I "think" Mo and Charlie Monroe do this for a living.

Chris,

If you want to diy - then look here:

http://www.schluter.com/english/product ... ion-h.html

I'm not certain exactly what you're asking .... you can "mud" (really mortar) a shower although few folks around here actually do that. If you simply want stone on your shower walls then follow the above and finish with stone tiles and grout.

Thanks for the link Frank. I'm not sure what I'm asking either :), but this looks like a very good solution.

Chris,

I do some tile work but do not do shower installations. If doing an installation for myself, I would definitely use the Schluter system.

Most good tile stores should have a list of installers that they recommend.

I would be glad to discuss the pros and cons of the different installation methods with you.

Charlie

Steve,

If he does a complete swap of stone and glass surround for a prefab shower please PM me his info. I believe I have the floor covered.

Thanks, Chris
