8 pounds and 10 ounces, 21" long. Apparently Chris woke up at 3:15am this morning with some labor pains. She woke Eric up at 4:15 and by 6:18 Anna was out. Chris never even got time for the epidural, but apparently did great nonetheless. Everyone is doing great.

Eric was pretty happy on the phone for obvious reasons. He'll have no trouble getting home to get his helmet and get to the gokart track in Greensboro when they open today. ;)

Just talked to Chris. She sounds *great*! I don't think, however, that she'll be seeking the position of spokesperson for natural childbirth. :D Look for her at some upcoming events while her slacker husband stays home with the kids.

Glad to hear that all is well!! Rapid labor is a stinker, huh? I can honestly say that I have NEVER had a patient say that it was a good thing that they didn't get their epidural!!!!

Eric- you and Todd can get together and commiserate about living in a house with three women!

I feel your pain Eric. Time to get a MALE dog or two to help counter the estrogen levels in the house!!!

Don't do it Eric, the women will have him castrated. The excuse is it prevents testicular cancer, but I think it's to keep estrogen levels high and testosterone surpressed.

You know what Bernie, you're right. Rebecca had our only male cat "fixed" as soon as it was old enough. She said it was to help keep him calm and not want to wander off, but I think it was her way to keep the hormone levels weighted more towards the estrogen side of things.

Ohhhhhh....you guys are talking about having the ANIMALS castrated. Gee, I had other ideas of what to castrate. :)

And Emmie is absolutely correct - I would not begin to advocate for natural childbirth. And more power to those of you who did it - voluntary or not. Whew - glad that's over!!! I can say, however, that the recovery time seems to be much shorter this time around. Looking forward to fitting behind the wheel of the Miata once again!
