does anyone know if green license plate lights are illegal, i got failed for inspection today in rocky mount, nc, for that reason, that and my starter switch is bad, and does not always start up.. i got it staryed for them, and they drovfe her in, but the lights killed it

Plate lights are required to be white and function.

As far as the starter. The inspector has to drive it into the inspection bay. If it won't start that is a problem.
