You just can't beat that whopping 185 horses being pumped out of a 403, can you. Give me that blower switch any day.

A nun in an F-Body is as realistic as a blower on a Ford. Only in Hollywood.

It's a 400, not a 403. 403 was '79. And they went to 301 in '80, which was the year my dad bought one. 155hp in a 4 million lb car doesn't equal much fun in a straight line. (12 sec 0-60) That's why I took it down the dirt roads so much. 8)

And I'm pretty sure the movie car had a lot more than 185 hp, judging by all the tire smoke. A friend of mine in high school had a bandit edition '78, with a few modifications (intake manifold, headers, dual exhaust) and was running a little over 100 mph in the 1/4 mile. Now that was a fun car. :D

Naaah. The 403 was the Olds engine used in the Trans Am.

That wikipedia link states that a 1969 model Trans Am was used in Knight Rider, and I'm certain that is not correct, so the info there might be suspect.

The Bandit T/A is hawt no doubt, but if I had to drive it, I'd take the Mad Max Falcon for sure. I mean it has a supercharger for goodness sake! No contest...

Maybe an ITR in DS.
Or half-assed STX prepped 330.
