Ok, this started in this other thread....

http://www.thsccforums.com/viewtopic.ph ... 5&start=46

...and I received a few items that should be added to this list. So that way if anyone wants to start a flame war, they should pick one of the following topics...

1. Complaints about events (especially the day after)
2. I (club newbie) know how to fix problem Z
3. Who works the hardest (variation on #2)
4. My car has an illegal part. Can I still run in class ABC
5. Rule Y is stupid because if affects my car (variation of #4)
6. Any PAX discussion (obligatory "PAX SUCKS!" comment)
7. Any TIR, NOV, X, LAD class discussion.
8. THSCC vs. Triad vs. SCCA vs. etc.
9. Harnesses in cars that don't have rollbars
10. T&S/Bus is overly technical/overly stoneage
11. How are we spending the clubs money (variation of #10)
12. Awning for the bus (variation of #10 and 11)
13. Generator for the bus (variation of #10 and 11)
14. "Cheater Tire" (aka Tire like Falken Azenis that fit the rules for TIR class but shouldn't be used as you are a cheater if you do)
15. Pushrod vs. OHC engines. Particularly the Chevy LSx series found in the Corvette.

(Updated on 5/4/2010)

Enjoy!! :D

Money can't buy happiness, but somehow it's more comfortable to cry in a Porsche than a Kia.

Hey, I didn't say we couldn't talk about those topics. :D Mostly wanted those who are easily offended to realize that those topics push buttons and that they shouldn't take things personally. I personally enjoy a good Ladies class or cheater tire discussion!

9a) Rollbars in street driven cars (although I haven't seen this one here ...........yet).

A photograph of Dishman installing an awning on the bus whilst wearing a Triad t-shirt might cause the world to end.

It seems to me that most list threads tend to end up as a flame war too. :poke:

I am still waiting for Donnie to utter the phrase "I swear to God". Too much morning radio.

Any honest question that could possibly be misinterpreted should be on the list.
Be sure, when asking anything, to first do a complete search of the site and the internet, then carefully phrase your question being sure to remove any possible ambiguity. Then just delete and guess. It is much safer.
And PAX does suck. :) Indexing a score based on the best driver with the most money? That is some kind of fair.
I am sorry to tell you, the Chicago White Sox, but because of the BAT index you have lost the World Series to the NewYork Yankees.

OK, Chuck, I get that you're being sarcastic and you know that's NOT how PAX works... :deadhorse: :deadhorse: :deadhorse:

But, here's an idea, if you don't want to deal with PAX, why not just move up to DM and run RAW against like prepared cars?

In what way can two American League teams play for the World Series?

That is another of the mysteries of the BAT index.

If you really feel that way..... why the hell did you modify your car? It really has nothing to do with money.... Just common sense.. If you enter a prepared or modified class you'd better do it all the way. Half assed is just that...to be competitive you must be modified to the limits of the class. If you don't do this ITS YOUR OWN FAULT. Its kind of like bringing a knife to a gun fight or a one legged man to an ass kicking contest. Its your own fault. Why did you modify the car in the first place? That cost money that wasn't well spent, your crying about rich people with a big pax and you could have been the same with no money expended on your part. What is it that you don't understand.... I'll help- you If you left the car alone you too would have a better pax...John Waynes axiom applies

Bernie while I agree with you I am sure in Chuck's defense he, like many other folks new to autocross, had probably modified his car prior to becoming involved with autocross.

And Chuck unfortunately for you this means running in a modified class with a well underprepared car. This is a sad truth to the sport that unfortuanely a lot of folks don't find out about until they have become involved in the sport. But the important thing to remember is that autocrossing is supposed to be fun. If having fun to you means being competitive then there is really only one solution.....participate with a car in a class that it can be competitive in.

FWIW I have a CRX and if I decide to continue autocrossing it Emmett and I will be running in D-Mod. Like your car it is well underprepared and even on street tires. You can certainly be competitive with us. So get out of novice class and come compete head to head with us. You are fighting a losing battle in a pax class with that car.

The inability to grasp sarcasm is a sign of autism. You might want to have that checked.

The car was built for The GrassRoots Challenge, I also like working with my hands and the idea of improving something with a minimal investment and maximum work. The boss wanted to go autocrossing and asked me to go. So I did, with the car I had. I just went for fun, took it slow, had a good time. Second time out, I went hard, thought I did well(I did) put I got the PAX whammy. So I looked at the quicksheet for reclassing and it looked like I only needed to do one thing to the car to reclass the car. So I asked and created a mini shit storm that got the thread locked in about two hours. Goodtimes :)
It is all I good. I have a set of the rules and all I have to do is add 86 pounds of stuff to the car to move it to a class it will be competitive in, then PAX will be my freind. As a plus to the weight added, it should also stiffen the chassis a bit, at least that is the "glass half full" way I am looking at it.

P.S. If I had left the car alone it would still be rusting away in a field with a locked up tranny, rusted out floors and an ant colony in the back half of the car. The ants filled a five gallon shop vac.

And some of you guys wonder why I have never gotten into autoxing.

Crap like this just really spoils it for me, and it seems like most of the threads that end up like this start up as a question about autox.

Get a grip people, you're "racing" in a PARKING LOT for wood trophies.

Life is too short for all this BS.

Bah, better than driving around in circles.

:) :) :) :)

Sorry Bret I just had to ;)

On a lighter note, one thing I realized today that I like so much about rallycross ... it's impossible to go off. Woohoo!
