I've now been flamed because I'm "in" to autocrossing!

I'll see your condescending tone and raise it a dose of irony, since road race forums are far worse about rule whining, flamefests, and general annoyance than this forum has ever been (except Eargle...unfortunately he's all ours.)

:)

Chris I saw some of the CRXs in DM, (I think I was on grid next to you at my first event, Red with a cage?) and was planning on staying there even if outclassed, but they don't seem to be showing up at the events I am going to be able to make it to.
I am not exactly MR. Competition, but it is more fun when it is close even if you are eighth out of eight. Sure I rag on PAX a bit, I would still do it if it made me a winner in NOV when my place in the group was mid pack. I have not seen a trophy and most likely won't :0 but I do like the dash plaques/refridgerator magnets, they hold up my Get Fuzzy comics. It really is a goodtime. My best suggestion would be to make it a continuous, multiple lap event over the same set of cones. Because if you go in a circle it makes it a real race.(Edit, Dammit, Mike beat me to it)

Autism is a complex neurobiological disorder that typically lasts throughout a person's lifetime. It is part of a group of disorders known as Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD). Today, 1 in 166 individuals is diagnosed with autism, making it more common than pediatric cancer, diabetes, and AIDS combined. It occurs in all racial, ethnic, and social groups and is four times more likely to strike boys than girls. Autism impairs a person's ability to communicate and relate to others, ie. "rich people". It is also associated with rigid routines, ie. following cones, and repetitive behaviors, ie. whining about pax, such as obsessively arranging objects, ie. cones, or following very specific routines, AutoX, RallyX
Time Trials. Symtoms can range from very mild to quite severe.
I guess we're all a little autistic.

Sarcasm doesn't translate well over the internet. Everybody should know that by now.

Interesting....

Thread about "Topics of Death" creates flame thread all on it's own. 8) It's kind of like pouring gasoline on the ground and watching everyone race up and see who can set it on fire first. Everyone walks away burnt.

Money can't buy happiness, but somehow it's more comfortable to cry in a Porsche than a Kia.

On a lighter note, one thing I realized today that I like so much about rallycross ... it's impossible to go off. Woohoo!

Funny you mention that... Keith Strassel was on course at Oakland Acres and a worker called in that he had gone off the course on the outside of a big sweeper. Response from timing: "Did he miss any gates?" Worker: "No." Timing: "Uh, then he didn't go off (laughter from Keith Vail in the background)"

Just having inside cones with pointers rawks!!! :D

Oh, yeah - Bret... sometimes we "race" at AIRPORTS! (and where are these "wooden trophies" you speak of? )

The notorious noob mentioned another sore point.

15. Complaining about factory warranty issues with a car used in competition.

I got around that one. Nothing I have owned has been covered under a warranty when I bought it.
