As Dustin will tell you, as will the workers in the bus, that this was already disconnected at the event. Dustin has been on a farm before too, we can smell our own.

As I was reading that I thought you were saying that ALL of those fell off!

Good thing I read the entire post before stating my disbelief. :P Still, interesting that it made it that far, and that it didn't have much further to go after the fact.

DOH! I had wedged that slip joint back together in the 3rd heat, but didn't really know how "back together" it was. I guess now we do

Actually coat hanger works better than zip ties, and duct tape burns off after a week or so. Yes, I know this from personal experience.

Here's the deal on the exhaust. I know since I had to fix it (and get my hands dirty  ) to drive it home yesterday.

One of the nuts on the hanger clamp came loose allowing the pipe to hang more freely. That caused the clamp to come loose on the slip-joint due to the extra lateral load. The slip-joint clamp was fubared so I had to toss it. I used the hanger clamp on the slip-joint, then used a coat hanger to support the pipe where the hanger was. Works fine for now, but that's a rigged and temporary solution.

I personally hate exhaust clamps, so I don't see why the slip-joint can't be welded, a new hanger installed, and it's fixed.

PS. The current exhaust has zero bling...that irritates me!

As long as it's at BMW Farm for setup on Thursday afternoon- that would irritate me!

Man, we won't bring the bus then. (at least that's how I read it).
