So Soon I will have an engine sitting around. It’s an L67 (S/C 3800) that makes ~300 HP and 340 lb/ft. I could just get rid of it, but I am thinking about dropping into another car. After helping another person make roughly 400 WHP and 450 lb/ft of TQ in a daily driver with one, and another putting 865 WHP down and now has ran 18 months of competition with no issues, I think this is probably the least known mod friendly engine out there, and the mods are fairly cheap. Not to mention that it has the same mounts as a SBC, so many of the kits for V8 transplants will work with this engine. It’s also fairly compact and doesn’t weigh a ton. The question is if I decide to use this, what car should I put it in. Maybe I can put it into a 240Z? It’s also bolts directly into a Fiero. Another shop specializes putting the L67 in Lotus 7 replicas.

What would you do with this engine (other than sell it and get something else)?

Come, those are only the loudest five that you got to hear! There are about 600 others that never made it above the surface. :lol4:

You could sell it to me, and I can start work on my Austin A35 for the $2006 Challenge :)

I think it would be a good base for an MGB project, but you could put it in a 1st gen Miata and actualy *drive* it! A nice, easy 25MPG and scorching speed whenever you want it.

Hmmm... a Miata with a bad engine might be found for less than $1k, and you could probably get cast off race tires for $150...

Have I mentioned there's a prize for the fastest Car Club? Team THSCC dude!
