I'm in. Just let me know when and where! I have a new-to-me bike to try out.

If there are 2 groups I'll be with the "Out Of Shape" riders.

How about tomorrow?

We had one short ride at Crabtree last year. If folks are new to riding, Beaver Dam may not be a good choice, although the trail is rad.

Crabtree would be good if we have a group with various skill levels.

So, I am assuming this is going to be for 'MTB' trails... not necessarily where a 'BMX/Freestyle' bike would be happy.

Something about a wheel with that large of a radius scares me....

Dan,

I ride at Lake Crabtree a couple of times a week (be there tomorrow, in fact), would be interested in the Falls Lake trails.

Cheers, Mark

awesome. i live right next to the old reedy creek trail head to crabtree, umstead, and rocky road so i go there most often. a few times a week and hopefully more now that the days are getting longer.

crabtree is ok, but kind of short and tight for a group i think. i guess i jsut dont like it cuz its my 'local' trail and is kinda boring.

rocky road is awesome but really tough (for me at least). its almost no fun its so hard. hah huge steep as climbs that are so rocky and rooty theres no hope of me getting up. hahi spend too much time walking up hills there :P

umstead is the cardio/exercise trail. not much fun

i like harris a lot and i think its a good size going around the whole thing. and i find it smoother and better flowing. i think i have the most fun there.

i've only done beaver damn once so i dont know too much about it. seemed really fun and more flowing like harris.

and im not in supar! shape or anything fo sho. PJ and my other roommate would likely go. My gf might too, but shes getting her first bike this weekend and may not be ready for testosterone attack yet.

oh and you can bring a BMX bike, brian, but i'm gonna leave your ass. haha. bigger wheels = easier to roll over things.. nothing scary about that :P i want a 29"er!

Me to. It would be a good chance to meet some people here. I mostly ride single speed MTB, but will ride any where. You might consider Garner recreation park. It can be kinda tough, and is pretty small but it is fun and there are not to many people out there. Harris is probably the best for a bunch of people with different skills and they have bathrooms, water, shelters and a disc golf course for the innerhippy.
I work for a bike shop and work on Saturday but Sunday rides would be nice.
I need to convert you all to fixed gear for crazy nightime downtown rides. There is some good urban mountian bikeing to be had downtown as well.

Alas. I work for AllStar in Ridgewood shopping center. My wife works for AllStar in Quail Corners.
Not to advertise but we have a small(14") Giant Iguana, 9 speed, with Hayes mechanical disk brakes, lefto over from '05. It is on sale for $500. Might be a good fit for the wife, they tend to be shorter. :) No commision, but I can work 10% discounts.

Single speed and fixed are really not to bad. You just have to find the gear that works for you. SS would suck to ride thru Umstead and then in Crabtree, because you would have the wrong gear in one place and the right gear in the other. But for single track the one gear is great.

I would go if I still lived in Raleigh. If anyone ever comes to the "West Side" (western NC/SC), let me know. Dupont Forest in Hendersonville, NC is supposed to have some of the best trails on the east coast.

I'll come if you guys don't mind listening to my crank creak every time I peddle. Ever since I replaced my bottom bracket the thing creaks like hell. I can ride during the week often too.
