This is a true story. I just heard it from one of my work colleagues.
My friend goes to get his car inspected here in G'ville. Upon completion of the inspection, they inform him that his car has failed. Reason: horn not loud enough.
My associate asks how many dB it was and how many dB it should be. The answers to both questions were "I don't know." When the tech is asked how he knew the horn wasn't loud enough, what test method/criteria was employed, he gave the following reply.
"My supervisor told me to go across the road and see if I could hear it when he honked it." ROTFLMAO!!!!
Surely the grand state of NC would have a test procedure requiring a minimum dB level at a specified distance. Can any one point us out to what the requirements for such a test really are?
