Thanks to all that responded to my post back in late september. I've been MIA for a while now between stuff related to my brother and the sale of my home/purchase of another, then the subsequent move to Clayton.

Anyway, the accident occurred on 9/24/03, and it involved a 17 year old girl who was driving a jeep grand cherokee Northbound and my brother, a 20 year-competition-experienced motorcycle rider, traveling southbound. The girl made a left turn to go west in front of my brother. I don't know how he didn't avoid this, but he hit the jeep in the right rear quarter. The collision vaulted him into the rear-most side window/roof section. He hit the roof edge in the face-hole of the helmet. I won't go into any details about this kind of hit other than they are very grave. Rick was in full arrest by the time he arrived at the hospital.

He has been comatose and unresponsive to stimuli since the accident. His brain activity is minimal, and recovery is not expected.

Miracles happen every day, and it seems we sure need one to get him back.

I wish there was better news to report. Thanks again to all that have asked about him. Please keep him in your prayers.

I'm hoping to make the night event and Sanford on the 16th. It will be good to get back into a fun activity for a change. I bought a new toy months ago and haven't had a chance to do anything with it, but it will be out for the last events....

Jim, I'm very sorry. Hopefully coming out to one of our events might be able to get your mind off things, even for a moment or two. Regards, Aaron

Jim as some hope to you. I had a friend who was involved in a bad jeep accident a few months back. He was offroading and flipped the car to the drivers side. He suffered massive head trama and was in a coma for nearly a month. I went to see him about 4 days after the accident. Doctors had done all types of procedures to reduce swelling in his brain but he was completely unresponsive. He had fractures in his neck and wasn't given any chance of servival. I assumed this was the last time i'd see him. I got word a few days later he'd contracted pnumonia and was being packed with ice trying to reduce fever and infection.

Three months later we met at his house. And had a party celebrating his exit from the hospital. Robert walked in unaided under his own power smiling and happy to see us all. He made a complete and full recovery. Although he isn't quite the same as he was, he's still the friend I knew 10 years ago. If you didn't know him before you wouldn't know the difference. Don't despair and keep supporting him, miracles do happen and people survive these things all the time.
