You know the story, you're cruz'n down the road and there they are. On a 45 mph back road, some bu++ head is going 20 mph with their head stuffed in a cell phone. You try to be nice and look for an open legal spot to pass. After a 1/4 mile of following this #$&^%@#, I see a nice spot to pass, only it's on a solid yellow line. I viewed this guy the same as a slow moving tractor. I pass and what pops over the hill, but NC's finest. You can see the look in their eye from 200 ft away as they hit the brake. No need to run, you're busted.

All things considered, the HP officer was one of the nicest looking blondes I've seen in some time, so getting the ticket from her was at least pleasent, but I still got a damn ticket to the tune of 135. So here's the rub. This is a one sided story if I present this a judge. The officer said I could use a prayer for judgement, but this just doesn't seem right that I get busted for going around a slow driver that didn't have the decency to get the heck off the road. Bottom line is I did pass on a solid yellow.

Do I fight and get a lawyer or just suck this up and pay the fine and use the pfj.

Thoughts?

hehehe, reminds me of the time in Apex, in the rain, in a 35mph zone, also a no passing zone, and i am behind Methusala's grandfather.

i was trying to be in two places at one time. i am between trucks so i am driving my mustang gt, which had bosani x pipe and flowmaster cat back. i pass this apex duly appointed peace officer as he is out of his car with a surveyors wheel measuring an intersection or something and i crack the throttle. apparently, this caused him some distress.

meanwhile i dust pops and haul buckets to my intended destination. upon arrival i am blocked from pulling around the back of the building by the semi truck i was there to meet. so i pull in to a space in front and get out of the car.

as my left foot is hitting the ground i become profoundly aware of a presence behind me. i turn to look and there is the aforementioned officer poised, lights flashing, and might i say more than mildly perturbed. i proceeded to sit back down as instructed.

i have no ID no DL on me and this guy has just sprinted to his car and given chase over a 1.5 mile distance. after he catches his breath and realizes he probably won't need to shoot me to get my attention he proceeds to chew my ass. tells me he could haul me off to jail in an instant if he so chooses to do so. first no DL, second speeding(although he admits he did not clock me, he is positive i was doing in excess of 65 in a 35), passing on a double line, in the rain. and some other stuff i don't remember anymore. ends up he cites me for speeding & passing on a double line.

so i go to court, in Apex, sit for two hours and plead PJC and they drop the passing on a double line. (no DA brokering here) pay the fine and i'm golden.

long story Rodney but, unless you have crap on your license that this recent ticket will worsen, pay the ticket. spend three hours downtown, meet the DA and get your ticket reduced.

hell you passed a tractor, my only sin was loud pipes. 8)

Am I the only one who immediately thought of Days of Thunder?

Suddenly I'm feeling my neck getting redder.
