no way that would work in cary...if you leave your can on the road for more than 12 minutes after the trashman leaves, you neighbor will report you to the trash police and you'll get a fine...that thig will stick out like a sore thumb

This just proves my theory that Cary sucks and should be avoided at all costs...

Give you kid a paintball gun and tell him to aim for the window on the can. No more pictures, no more tickets.

I don't know where everyone gets this Idea that Cary is full of uptight people. I've lived there for 9 years and have yet to see anything along the lines of the stereotyping that is portrayed by jealous wannabees 8)

When I moved into my house in Cary, there was a guy up the street who ALWAYS parked his boat in the street. No biggie, right?

Well I go get a small single axel car trailer and park it in front of my house. About a week later, one of Cary's finest is pulling into my driveway. I go out and inquire as to the problem. She lets me know that you can't park trailers in the street in Cary (or some such similar law), and one of my neighbors had called to complain. I asked her if I could park it in my yard. She said as long as it wasn't in the street, I could put it wherever I wanted to. I proceeded to leave the trailer about 6 inches from the curb in my front yard for over a month, just to annoy the neighbor that had called the police without coming over and asking me to move it. :) I really wanted to put a sign on it that said "Are you happy now?", but refrained.

Oh, and the guy with the boat... he got a ticket that day (I asked since I had figured it was OK because of the boat). Thereafter, it was in his driveway.

We moved to Cary in 88, my parents still live in Cary (even though for some reason they gripe about it all the time  ) I watched it grow from a good town to a moderate sized town that over half the people now living there (mind you I didn't say ALL) feel that it's their civic duty to let people know that they are better than you, even if they aren't. It makes me sad. :( It's almost like they expect things to be handed to them. Now I don't know the exact statistics, buy my guy feeling is that a good portion of the people that fall into this category are the actual "Yanks" that moved in. Not all them northerners are bad, but those few who do what is seen as a northerner act give the rest a bad name. :?

Just my take on it. Oh, and for the new radar setup, great way to catch the kids! :D

Hmm, and if THE WAR turned out differently we'd have been seeing an influz of southerners in Brooklyn. I wonder which would be worse.

Actually, if you've never been there, NYC is a great place to visit. Especially if you could hook up with a local for a tour of the city and surrounding burbs.

Chris is right. I lived about an hour north of NYC until I was about 23. NYC and the surrounding areas are great. - AB

I lived 12 miles west of NYC and while I agree with the great place to visit, I would tag on the cliche, "but I wouldn't want to live there" line as well.
