Where BMWs come to die

The BMW Farm is in dire need of a weather-tight shop with a decent concrete floor. I've been mulling this over for some time now, and I have a pretty firm budget in mind- but I'm looking to benefit from others experiences with this sort of thing.

I have been leaning towards a steel building- you know, one of those big box-looking things with red steel I-beams and corrugated steel sheets for the siding + roof. I got an actual quote from Heritage Building in Arkansas which seemed fairly reasonable, but then it only includes the building components dropped off here at the farm- it does not include the concrete slab, or putting the darn thing together, nor does it include any wiring. Basically, the steel building "package" from them was a bit more than 1/2 my budget, and I don't know if I could get the rest of the work done and stay within my $$$ limit.

I'd like to get a couple of quotes from local companies with experience in putting these things up- anyone ever done anything like this? Any ideas of who to use or NOT to use??

Alternatively, I have been checking out the "garage" buildings that are always advertised in Southside Shopper and similar papers- Carolina Custom Garages (I think that's the name) is one of the builders. These look pretty fairly priced, and they seem to be pretty much all-inclusive- but I'm not sure one of these would be right for my needs.

Basically, I need some clear work space, enough ceiling clearance for a 2 post lift (already have one here waiting to be installed), space to work on a couple of cars at a time, and space to store a couple of cars + motorcycles out of the weather. I was thinking a separate workroom and/or "office" type room would be useful too- something that could be cooled off with a window AC unit. I have a couple of other barns that will continue to be used for storage of parts, etc.

I'm looking to the collective wisdom of fellow car-nuts here, any thoughts??

:) :)
