Some of us members just don't have enough time in the day to do everything that we'd like to do. I know that there are others out there besides us who have that problem! Some of us have to work every Friday, every Wednesday night or most weekends, or have no control over our work schedule. Many have families that require extra time away from work and racing. Many of us can't attend the meetings or help set up courses, etc. But some are able to run errands for the club, work on the bus at night after work when it was needed, some cook great food for us at events. There's lots of things that people do besides actually "run" the club events and meetings.
So what can our group do extra for our THSCC club? That got me to thinking. Sometimes we automatically do things and don't realize others don't always see the behind the scenes activities. I never knew how many computer wizards and auto mechanics we had until this year that could help out "in the background". A lot of people even donated parts for the new bus when the time came! Hey there's lots of things going out there that might not get press in the newsletter.
I've just realized that many of you may not know us very well. We have soooo many new members here in THSCC!
A little bit about us. Chuck and I own Charles Frank,"goldsmith" in Raleigh. We make and sell custom designed jewelry (and can also provide some commercially available jewelry at special prices for those who need such). We're also the largest pearl dealer in the southeast. I know that we've made some beautiful pieces for Rodney and his wife, pearls for Sally and earrings for Kendra, as well as many engagement rings and wedding bands for others here. We have always offered THSCC members special prices and discounts through the years and many of you have taken advantage of our way of giving back to the membership. But I recently became aware that some of you have made jewelry purchases and didn't know about us until after we had a conversation at an event when you saw Charles Frank Goldsmith on the side of the car! So here I am...
Running our own business takes so much time that we've never had the chance to spend any Fridays out there early getting things ready, so the discounts are one way that we can offer something.
We also make and sell vinyl lettering and numbers as well as graphics for race cars. This year we're providing some numbers and letters for the officers of the club at no charge, some of you already have yours! A little something else that we're able to do on our tight schedule. As far as non officers, we're happy to offer the best prices that we can for any vinyl work that we do.
We also work timing and scoring at the events that we attend.
Everyone can make a donation in some way, sometimes it's the little somethings that really add up.
