My engine builder crates his engines up as Chuck describes, and ships them off via Delta Freight. If there is a terminal at the destination, the customer just picks it up. This confuses the folks at both terminals, though. They're used to box trucks and accounts, but you can bring a pickup truck and pay by credit card.
Gaping hole in airport security? Lets hope not.
Recently one of my builder's engine blocks was "holed" by an enthusiastic forklift operator. Fortunately the block was insured, but now there is more armor in his crating methods.
