** More 1987-91 Tempos from Hertz than I care to remember. I curbed one in a snowstorm in Binghamton and drove it about 5 or 6 miles to my destination in Glendale, despite about 4 inches of toe-in. I was on time for my meeting. I called Hertz to have them tow it away. I cruised Woodward Avenue in a Tempo a couple of years later.
** I am pretty sure I never drove Tom Morris's 1968 Mercedes 230S mosquito fogger. He ended up on an EPA watch list.

No clue on how many cars I've driven. Nothing terribly exotic or interesting really -- I don't like driving cars I can't afford to fix. Worst car driven in recent memory: Kia Amanti Hertz rental in Arizona. It has every feature known to man but every one of them are poorly executed. OK power but more marshmallow handling than any Buick land yacht ever made. Some sales drone complimented me on the car at a Starbucks. Yuck!

I won't try to list the cars I've owned or driven (not that impressive a list even though a few have done rather well in autocross competition ).

However, I will mention the absolute SLOWEST car I've ever driven: Renault Alliance automatic rental in Denver. Darn thing was so slow that I literally could not out drag a big truck (maybe a cement mixer) away from a stop light so I could change lanes . At the time a friend was RACING a somewhat faster version of the same car in a Renault sponsored road racing series . . . I think I even drove it on the highway once and it couldn't maintain speed on a long freeway grade . . . racing those things was probably like Turtle Racing.

sorry to drag this thread out again, but i just got back in town. i did ride with Rob, and Rob and Jason rode with me. it helped. i also saw your video, Mike, and i agree it could be used as an instructional tool. the concept of turning early really stood out to me in the video. i need to work on field of vision issues and practice will help that i believe. thanks for the help.

I had to drive this fine piece of machinery. I felt I needed a tetnaus shot afterwards though. Believe it or not they wanted a windshield. The clearance lights are on the roll cage.
