I was talking to a friend the other day and apparently he has seen a red Enzo and to top that, knows someone who's seen the same in addition to a yellow Enzo.

I've been in Raleigh seven years and the coolest cars I've seen on the road have been a Testarossa, a white Countach, and a Esprit S4.

Can anyone validate these Enzo sightings?

i've seen a yellow enzo on I40 east of raleigh before....i've seen several lambo's in raleigh over the years, a green murcieaglo most recently....

there is also a local porsche collector that has some crazy cars - 959, a real 996 gt3 rs (supposedly the only one in the US), soon to have a carrera gt, and a LOT of very rare p-cars...

expect to see a few carrera gt's and ford gt's around raleigh soon...

Funny you mention the green Lamborghini, because he'd seen that too.

I saw a red Enzo on the beltline a few months ago.

The strangest car sighting I've had was just a plain ol' Z06 in Clayton - but a blue-hair/ helmet-haired 60-something woman with huge 70's sunglasses, lots of jewelry & smoking one of those snooty cigarettes was driving it. Veeeerrrrrryyyyy ssssslllllooooowwwwwwllllllyyyyy...

:?

The guy with the GT3 RS is Robert Rapp (sp?). He's a local rich dude who has quite the collection, yeah. But that's not the only one in the US...there are several that have been imported gray market. I actually thought pretty hard about getting one, but I just couldn't justify it for some of the same reasons I got rid of the 996TT. Just too much to have sitting in one car you can't really enjoy very much on the road.

I've seen a green Murcielago in Chapel Hill. Dude was driving it in the rain and driving *exactly* the speed limit for a long way down highway 54 (45MPH).

But the absolute coolest car in the triangle now is my Elise. :)

the gt3 rs that i'm talking about belongs to Bob Ingram (a glaxo exec)...there could be others in the states and i have also seen a few fake 996 gt3 rs's around...here is his gt3 rs http://www.road-scholars.net/ShowDetails.aspx?thumb=false&CarID=93....too bad it may never see a track
oddly enough i came across this site about his collection (it doesnt list the gt3 rs though and possibly a few others) http://ingramcollection.com/

edit: sweet elise!!

Shit, I think I was getting my rich P-car collectors confused. You're right, it's Ingram I was thinking of, too.

I can't find it now, but I recall finding three listed on a high end importer's web site not long ago...one or two were listed as sold and one was listed as available and it appeared they were all in the US.

Oh, thanks Kevin. I'm quite happy with it. Can't wait to get it fully broken in.

lol, i hate it when that happens

i've seen several of ingram's cars up close and they are amazing, most are very low mileage.....if i had any of them, they would have a LOT more miles

I think I saw that red Enzo in Chapel Hill a few months back. I don't know for sure as I was on twisty back road and we passed going in opposite directions. The WOW factor rendered me temporarily without thought.

In my parking lot at work there is an older Pinafiore, a yellow Countach, Some new model Turbo Porsche, a Viper SRT-10, Mercedes AMG SL (I think) 55, Z06's, and two Silver STi's (well, maybe they're not as exotic :) ) With the exception of the Pinafiore, they're all parked in the same lot on one side of our building. I need to take a picture one day...it's cool to see these.

Chris, where do you work & how tight is the parking lot security?

Awesome car! I think that color scheme is the best. Definately a good way to spend $40k.

I'm looking forward to seeing your Elise at the events.

Well someone in my parking garage has a Honda with a big wing on it. That is about as exotic as I see on a daily basis.

I did see a Ferrari 550 or 575 Maranello on Aviation Parkway about a week ago. And I did see a 911 GT2 on Glenwood Ave about a year ago and various Lamborghini Countach and Ferrari 355/360s over the past few years around the triangle. But otherwise I am not lucky enough to see anything really exotic.

What I want to know is why we don’t have more of these people in the club? The cars and owners seem to exists, but are they just collectors and only hang with others in their marque of choice (i.e. PCA vs. THSCC)?

They are elitist !!! they don't want to get beaten in an autocross by some cheap car. Even by an old 1973 911.

Patrice
That like to beat these GT2 with is old 911.
