Anybody know local groups we could donate a 92 Integra with 155K miles on it.

I might post it for sale, but I'm thinking we can claim KBB on it ($2200) where I think I could only sell it for about $1000, $1500 tops.

Seems like donation might be a better option.

Now, if some wants to start up rallybeaters.org as a not for profit, that might be the best of both worlds.

Maybe an ITR in DS.
Or half-assed STX prepped 330.

Consider that $1,500 sale price puts exactly that much in your pocket. A $2,200 donation will be a deduction from your income tax. If you are lucky enough to be in a 30% tax bracket then your net in-pocket is $732. Also, condider that your charity will ony net what ever they can get for the car Probably around $500. You would be better off selling the car and donating 1/2 to your favorite charity. AND, you would be doing a service to those less fortunate that can really use a $1,500 car.
By the way, if you do donate you should do it before New Years because the 2005 tax law onlys you to deduct the amount that the charity actually recieves when they sell the car, not the Blue Book value.
Just a second opinion.

So if I have a 92 Plymouth Laser with a busted axle, will the charity come pick it up, or do I have to deliver it myself?

(gotta beat him somehow... although if the POS Laser was gone, he might end up co-driving a WRX. :x )

Just went through this with the Crown Vic.
UNC, SPCA, United Way, and the others I fould during a quick web search
would not take cars over 100+ miles. We found the United Kidney
Foundation was willing to take anyting-even non running vehicles!
Fill out a quick online form, mail in the title and it was done. You don't
have to get stuff under 10K appraized and are entitled to take
full NADA retail off your income. Sweet!
