Sweet car! I lust over the original Chevy 302. I guess it comes from my dad's stories of his old drag car, a '38 Chevy coupe with a bored-out 283 and some pretty exotic head work and hot cams. He used to spin it to 9000, which is not too far off the factory 302.

Speaking of the manual steering, I've been thinking of switching to it in my car. If I get a chance could I try yours out sometime?

I thought this was a satellite radio thread. No opinion from me, I've probably got about 10 hours on the tape deck in my Mustang and 5 hours on the CD player in my Maxima. After a certain age you just don't care what you listen to, since you've heard it all before anyway

Jim, I'd like to hear your opinion of the manual steering after the first time you drive a tight slalom. It takes pretty high effort inputs to make a Miata R turn at low speeds and I thought it took away from whatever precision I was trying to achieve. Of course, it was a lot of fun, and I thank Diane again for letting me drive her '95 R back in '02 and '03.

I will bring the Miata to the Greenville event. The manual steering is a pain in the butt for everyday driving. It does require a lot of effort at low speed.

I too thought what was on the Radio didn't matter any more for me but XM has brought it back babe. Atleast try in on your next rental Car long trip.
