Nice numbers, too bad it's such a damn girly looking car.

It's a VW - I'm amazed it made it all the way through one run without breaking.

Does it come with a bud vase on the dashboard?

I think it would look better with some Mille Miglia Daisy's on it.

Well, I would have, but I was actually out setting up a course so the real car enthusiasts could go and use our horsepower on Sunday. Glad you had fun sitting around the house all day yesterday patting yourself on the back for how much power you have sitting in the driveway.

Or were you just afraid of getting your pretty secretary's car a little dirty?

-----------------

Hahaha thanks I was having a bad day but I feel better now :) :) :)

Glad I could help :D

Secretary's car?

Didn't you just by a wagon?

And a VW to boot? :P

that wasn't very nice, and it's not true. Aaron was already at about 169 hp with just an intake and exhaust. He actually only made about 2 peak hp with the ECU.

Since his mods aren't making the car any faster, does that mean he's really outdriving all of us?

I got to blame it on the mods before, now I'm almost out of excuses!

Scott

Scott does bring up an interesting point.

Actually, prior to uncapping the the exhaust, I gained barely .3 hp. The good thing is that with some tuning, I should be able to hit 180+ hp and 130+ lb ft. of torque. When you go the NA route, it's certainly not a plug and play like a turbo setup.

It looks like I will have to get that done prior to Nats, and hope I can surprise some people. Regardless, Adam's ghey VW is pretty powerful, and I wouldn't mess with it on the strip. - AB

I wouldn't call the turbo setups "plug and play" exactly. Took 6 hours to get mine tuned. We got 225/220 out of it on a dynapack where a stock WRX makes 165/165

I should have clarified... VW chip setups are truly plug and play, very similar to BMW and Conforti chips. Those with setups that have ability to 'tune' the ECU have a lot more work to do.

Tom, did you do your tuning at Taylor N Sport in Mooresville? - AB

Well sort of. The MKIV chasis, like my new one, there are some people that make chips. But all the good choices are actually "re-flashes" of the stock ECU. And the better ones, like REVO, GIAC, and newer APR, do have allowments for many adjustments.

I messed around with both timing and boost levels while on the dyno as well as making a stock boost and timing run.

And a guy with a riced out , sticker covered, fart can having car is calling my car ghey? :P Though I never said you weren't a much better autoxer than me :(
