I never ran it with the subframe brace installed. That was something I put in to keep the front end stiff and wheel hop under control on the street. You can ask Vincent and Sonya about how tuff the Isuzu diff is when it starts hopping. Really the only illegal part on the car when I ran it was the engine mount, I broke two stock ones which are expensive, why keep paying alot of money for a POS when the aftermarket is cheaper and better. If i really wanted to cheat, there are tons of better ways on a Cavalier to get it done that wouldn't be caught.
Same goes for Tom, why keep buying a gearbox that is a total POS. What will this be the 4th transmission going into this car. I guess I have a hard time understanding this thread then. Is it to make us think you are cool for being hard on your equipment?? I sure as hell wouldn't be buying a standard unit again. Autox is fun but you'd don't get paid to do it. Sounds like a huge waste of money in parts to me.
so what you're saying is, 'you know the rules, you understand the rules, but since you don't agree with the rules, you aren't going to follow them.' is that about right?
oh, and also, 'since you could cheat even worse than you are, it's OK to cheat a little'
as for the, "it costs to much to keep replacing POS parts with POS parts" arguement....no one is saying you can't replace the parts with more suitable parts, just do it and class yourself appropriatley.
i'm with you Aaron. sorry to hijack your thread tom.
