Alright, long story short, the Corrado is seemingly totalled after a quick run in with a tree. The whole right front end is toast and yeah, the motor went through the hood again.
I got carted away to the hospital and someone towed the car (hope they didn't scratch up the car), so I didn't have a great chance to examine the remains, but the motor looks to be in useable shape and i suspect the tranny is damaged from the drivetrain shock but hopefully it could be rebuilt. Everything else looks in tact, but what do I know. I was still dazed.
So, I'm at a crossroads. Depending on how the insurance company deals with it, I may be able to get enough to pay off the rest of the loan. At which point, I will either do a transplant to a clean shell and piece together whatever is needed. Other options I'd consider include another A2 (git or jetta), but I may just claim a certain MB I've been trying to sell and wait a while to decide on a new dub.
Anyways, I'll likely go to the tow yard tomorrow and see the remains and take what stuff I had in the car with me. In the mean time, send any/all hot nurses my way, I exaggerate a little
EDIT: pics of the carnage...
