Good to know, that makes me feel better about it.

Since both you and Rodney have or are having electrical work done, can you recommend an electrician? I have 200 Amp service with a 150 amp panel inside my house, but I am thinking the way to go is to install a new 200 AMP main/meter base outside and from there split service to the inside panel and garage.

Hey Jordan, I stumbled across this post on my Nextdoor neighborhood network today, some electrician recommendations. I have no affiliation with these people:

Quote:
Steve McOwen from Somerset · 1d ago
I got a recommendation from this list a couple months back and they were really good. Reasonably priced, showed up on time, did quality work and communicated expectations clearly. Father and son team. Crenshaw Electric. http://www.crenshawelectriccompany.com/

Ted Browne from Wellsley · 19h ago
A&K Empire Electric - family, veteran-owned and reasonable. 919.787.7166

Heather Ratteree (Felter) from Wellsley · 17h ago
Robb Schiesl w/ Badger Electric (919) 500-0498

Thanks Mike!

Garage is progressing right along. They're gaining on Rodney. Projected to finish Wednesday. Sounds ambitious. Garage door to be installed Friday.

Thanks Guys! Its getting close to that point where it's half finished, yet 90% of the work remains. All the finishing will take a while. I am hoping after the concrete cures the weather will still be mild enough to put down an epoxy floor.

I have been thinking, someone who knows the permitting process could probably work a decent side job laying the ground work as a go between, between the county and DIY'ers who want to build their own garage. There are 3 separate permitting authorities that have to approve the garage in my area.

Ah yes, the days of plywood under the jack and laying on cardboard under the car. I have been looking forward to this garage since I traded garage for location on our second house back in 2005.

Yep, that's why the car will be running ES next year and not be a track car for the foreseeable future. I need somewhere to be able to do more maintenance on a track car and I don't like doing it on gravel.

Passed one of three final inspections this morning. I finished painting all sides but the front.

ME TOO! Not the gravel driveway part,
I just think I should be satisfied with a two car garage. My winter project is to get super organized and get satisfied. Perhaps if I got all my car and motorcycle projects done I might need less space.

Part of the problem is my garage faces the golf course, very distracting.
