I'm getting ready to buy a 2 POST lift for my garage and want to know if anyone has had experience with any particular brand/installer. I was looking at Bendpak or Challenger leaning toward Bendpak as they purport to be made in the USA (assembled in the USA??).

One of their dealers also stocks Revolution Lifts and so I'm wondering if anyone has any advice either way. I just want one that goes up and down and doesn't drop the vehicle on my head......

Thanks

It's like most anything else, how much do you want to spend?

I have had this Atlas 9KOH from Greg Smith Equipment for almost 4 years and have been very happy with it. Dustin recommended an installer (who installed his Challenger) and I'd highly recommend him. He picked my lift up from the shipping terminal on the way to my shop, and had it up and ready to test in less than 4 hours. He doesn't do the wiring, so you have to take care of that yourself, but he needs at least temporary power to test the operation and bleed the system.

Let me know and I will see if I can dig up the name and contact info for the installer.

I dug through some old e-mails and found the info for the guy who installed mine and Dustin's lifts. Also, AFAIK, he will install any lift, not just those that he sells.

I want to build a garage but I refuse to do so, I have too many cars and projects now. If I build a garage I will die and my family will be on Chasing Classic Cars selling all my uncompleted projects.

So, I think of what I can do in my current two car garage. I keep looking at this lift in this garage.

That garage build is just wonderful! It gives me warm fuzzy feelings of the WW2 era workshops back home.

What kind of ballpark are we talking about to have him install a 2 post lift?

He charged me $450, and it was worth every penny IMO.

I'm in pittsboro and you can use mine if it's not a long term thing

I paid 2200 for my 2 post certified 10k, picked up in a warehouse in greensboro and installed it myself with help from the wife and my farmboy pulley system skills, budget for the safety jack stands too I have 2 I need to pick up 2 more

LOVE it, I use it constantly I logged labor saved if I had sent work out for the first year and it was paid for, wife's mini cooper clutch took care of that I wouldnt have done it without the lift.

It seems that much of the serious discussion has happened so I can say what I have wanted to say since I saw the thread title :) ...

Money can't buy happiness, but somehow it's more comfortable to cry in a Porsche than a Kia.

I just got the Harbor Freight scissor lift for those with less than 10' ceilings. It does not mount to the floor, so no installation required for the most part. I know most folks shy away from the Harbor Freight name for anything but hammers, but if you read the reviews, none of them are bad and mine seems to be of better than average quality. You can use the 20% off coupons on it as well. If anyone wants to come check it out, let me know. I'm in North Raleigh.

Sweet, i'll hit you up if I have a need for it sometime. I'm not doing a lot of work on things currently unless something breaks, which since I did a head on a Jeep and a bottom end on a Miata last year, i'm really hoping to take a break from any major work for awhile lol.
