Event the military needs practice, especially in some of their unique vehicles. I ran across two videos today that I found really interesting. It is USMC doing winter training in Norway and they are learning and practicing how to drive tanks and other tracked vehicles on slick surfaces. In short... drifting tanks on ice!

Tanks...

Tracked amphibious assault vehicles (AAV)...

With the tank video they are getting some good drifts and power slides and later in the video some great shots of them at speed (they are moving pretty fast down some roads). With the AAV video they show them doing what looks like a rallycross style course with cones (including slalom) and someone following behind to reset cones. :) Then you can see the AAVs fully locked up and sliding as they approach a turn. You knows those guys had to be having fun doing this.

Money can't buy happiness, but somehow it's more comfortable to cry in a Porsche than a Kia.

In the first video, the guy at 1:53.... you can hear him feathering the throttle as he maintains a great drift without hitting the berm. :)
