I'm going to smoke another boston butt this weekend. I've used Meathead's magic dust the last few times, but I'd like to try something different. You guys have suggestions on a simple rub? Typically I'll salt it the night before and then apply rub the morning of cooking.

Let me know what you guys do please...

Simply and easy pork rub recipe.

8 parts Brown Sugar
3 parts Salt
1 part Chili Powder

I put it on the night before. And then a little more before it goes on.

We use a rub call Lucious the King. We like it. If you want to try it let me know and I'll bring you a bag

I started using just kosher salt. You might try that and see if you like how the butt comes out. I cook with hickory which has a stronger flavor than most fruit woods.

I guess that's about as simple as it gets! Thanks for the suggestions.
