Pretty sure it doesn't.

Do you think asking for access to private bit torrent trackers (where pirated copies of copyrighted works are shared) is showing respect for "the copyright of other users, sites, media, etc"? Please explain

Reply to ninja-edit: Cars serve a purpose besides exceeding the speed limit. What purpose does getting access to a private bit torrent tracker serve besides enabling piracy of copyrighted works?

Do you think owning a car that can break the speed limit means you are going to break the speed limit? Should we ban everyone who owns such a car?

No. You didn't answer my question. Try again.

Are you being serious???
I hope the person that deleted that post, followed the "moderators" rules and contacted you to let you know why it was deleted.

I completely agree. However, if you think that deleting a forum thread is using the big hammer, you're going to be stunned when you hear about how the copyright cartel deals with people who they find pirating their copyrighted works. We don't need that kind of attention here.

Barely. As far as I can tell, all of the content is transferred to/from the website and stored in perpetuity in clear text.

EDIT: It's really not a good place to ask for help to do anything illegal.

I did not know that there was a link between forum content and the website. Interesting....

Carlton is being overly pedantic, and either way without a proper CALEA request it's a giant pile of inadmissible. The collection itself would be illegal wiretapping.

If the topic was to become pervasive, then the admins would discuss and it would highly likely be stopped (locked or deleted).

It's too bad that we don't have target practice days any more.

Can we schedule one of those sometime soon? Does Ron still have a gun range in his yard?

Best thread derail ever. TV to guns, that is.

Guys, in the interest of "protecting the club", I will be deleting the entire thread, tomorrow. Just wanted to give everyone a heads up. Carlton makes a good (if slightly paranoid, IMO :)) point about keeping potentially legally sensitive words out of our web content.

If you're worried about censorship and want to keep the thread up for posterity, please save a copy and delete every instance of "torrent" and "piracy" and "TV" and anything else potentially sensitive out of it before hosting it publicly.

Is there an alert I can set that will email me when an interesting topic comes up on the forum? Seriously, I post a thread about a new racing series. Zero discussion. Is this a car club are progressive educational group ( I don't know what else to call it).

It seems that any thing that is brought up than can be viewed as offensive it reacted upon. Deleting a thread about a concealed carry permit???? If this is the direction we are going I have some other issues that need attention:

AX and HPDE on Sunday- that is the Sabbath and it is to be kept Holy ( Several flavors of Christians)

AX and HPDE on Saturdy- that is the Sabbath and it is to be kept Holy (Seventh Day Adventist version)

AX an HPDE prep on Friday after sundown- that is the Sabbath and it is to be kept Holy (Orthodox Jew version)

Christmas Party- offensive in so many ways. Pagen holiday according to some fundamental Christian, forcing Christian beliefs on Non-Christians, etc. Then there is the pork served at Bill's BBQ- offensive to Jews and Muslims.

I hope this rant makes me feel better

Are you really combining this discussion with the trophy girl horseshit? Man I feel sorry for any new member who joined the forums in the last few months. All we seem to do is bitch about who it's appropriate to offend and drag the same argument into every thread. With the exception of the trophy girl thread proper it seems it's more of a conservative educational group. Chris's thread, your racing thread (if you want discussion it's likely wise to not take a dig at a chunk of the active forum posters), now this thread too all remind us that it's silly to try and not alienate a group of people we've historically had problems turning into members/participants.

The admins checked the logs and there wasn't a thread deleted. The thread exists with two pages currently with people all over the political spectrum interested.
