I was looking at some industrial property in Google maps and saw this:

What is that facility?

And don't think we haven't tried to get hold of that place, but current staff will have nothing to do with us. Until leadership changes, that place is a no go....

Where BMWs come to die

Years and years ago I went to a BMW-sponsored event there comparing the NEW E36 to some of the competition (MB, Lexus, Infiniti IIRC). They had a few auto-x type exercises set up, I believe they had the folks from Skip Barber running it. I remember getting my turn at the wheel of a car (not an E36) where they were trying to show the benefits of traction control- they started us off on a thick sheet of plastic that had been doused with soapy water. The instructor said "step on it" so I put the pedal to the floor and the tach was just banging off of the rev limiter while the front wheels were spinning. No one ever said to let off so I just held the pedal down.

They had to retire that car after that, I think I blew up the transmission.

It's a great facility though, I am not surprised that they don't allow "outside" groups to have access.

Just wondering...what was their reasoning not to let us use the site?

Been auto-crossing on and OFF for a while now, yet I find myself driving more OFF than ON.
