I'm sure any wheel hop will be addressed with an extra set of shocks.

I agree with you-- the car in the pictures is a big step backwards from the previous models. Its not such a bad thing; as it stands the Mustang was on my "to buy someday" list, and the model knocked it right off.

Eye of the beholder . . .

How is it a big step backwards from previous models if it is wandering away from its heritage looks? Even my 69 looked a lot different from the 64 - 66's. :?:

To me the new version carries a lot of the trademark Mustang "look" while presenting a new look that cannot be mistaken by most people as anything other than a Mustang. If I didn't have the 2012 I would be chomping at the bit (pun intended) to get a 2015/16. But then I've been a Mustang fan since 1964 except for the 71 - 73 "Torino" versions and the Mustang II so I'm biased . . . a lot.

The first thing I noticed when I sat in a 2005 Mustang was the amazing headroom. I guess if I ever go shopping for one of the new series, I'll bring my helmet with me.

The looks of the car are growing on me a bit. From some angles (particularly low angles) the headlights do remind me of the 67/68 models, but then from other angles the BMW F30 style drooping snoot gets my attention and I again think an emergency restyle is in order. I think the roofline is great if you ignore the Euro-Sino quarter windows. If I were still in high school, I'd spend trig class tomorrow drawing up a new Mustang with a proper Mustang B-pillar and louvers so we could see what it should have looked like :) Blah blah blah.

Any attempt to bring in European styling to an American muscle car is not welcome in my book.

If the .9" is indeed fact in regard to head room, that's a killer for me. Right now in the '08, there is ~1/4" of space between the helmet and headliner. An inch of difference in the wrong direction would make this a no buy option from an autox standpoint. Now, as a daily driver, it would be ok. It's interesting, right now I have issue w/ setting the seat just right in a e46 2 door car and my head "just" rubs. I can't even fit into a new camaro w/ a sunroof. Same w/ the Chrysler crossfire, can't fit into the car.

So many nice cars out there that don't have my name on them....

You know, you were never going to leave this car stock, right? Maybe consider adding a new lower seat--I think it would be a big help for you. It would retain ST* legality as long as it's a minimum 25lbs (including brackets) and you could then track/autocross it, then swap out the seat in the offseason. Just a thought.....

Sienna Miller is an attractive woman for sure, but it is interesting that they decided to use an English model/actress partnered with an English fashion photographer as part of the PR campaign for the launch of the next edition of an iconic US muscle car. Not sure what that says regarding their target audience? Maybe that the Mustang has grown beyond its base of support?! A break from the past?

Money can't buy happiness, but somehow it's more comfortable to cry in a Porsche than a Kia.

Notice it's the base model, not the GT, so maybe it's attempt to promote the "secretaries car" version?

It definitely resembles the F30 and the F22 (upcoming 228i/M235i) from a profile view, particularly near the front.

Perhaps this is simply style cheating/merging so common nowadays, or it could be an indication of the expected European audience they are going to sell the car into. Isn't Ford's plan to make this a world selling vehicle? More so than any prior generation?

Why? Target market?

2, 3, 4? Does this mean the 1 goes FWD?

That is the British intro
