Mac's are not supported by insurance company software. My world revolves around insurance!

Then your world is a sad, broken place, my friend. Sad indeed.

I bet you still listen to music on 8-track tapes too, right?

If they still worked, I sure as hell would.

I went with Thunderbird because it was on one of my other workstations. I am using gmail for my personal, probably will just migrate everything over to that at some point. I just think either Apple or Google (or both) are the AntiChrist and I will soon have to get the mark of the beast to function on them.

apple and google are the antichrist, but microsoft is good? wow.

Well, I am not quite at rabid as Cline on this, but I might state it a different way. If anyone thinks that any large public corporation such as Apple, Google, Microsoft, Facebook, Oracle, Amazon, etc. are significantly more or less good or evil than the others then they are kidding themselves. If anything, I put those whose main focus is to make money directly off the personal meta-data they have collected on me (i.e. Google, Facebook) to be in the "It is much easier to be evil" category. For the most part, I view them roughly equally (ok, I really do hate Larry Ellison/Oracle).

Money can't buy happiness, but somehow it's more comfortable to cry in a Porsche than a Kia.

Wow, Cline, you're slipping up here...that was WAY after 8-tracks disappeared!

Didn't you hate how 8-tracks would split a song in two.. the music would stop, then it would wind to the end, reverse, then pick up the song where it left off? Of course, it was not much of a problem for me, since my folks never considered wasting my college fund on extravagances such as 8-track tape players, or a record player.

However, I did install an 8-track in a high school friend's new '76 Firebird one Saturday morning. At first I had trouble finding the factory speaker wires to splice into and had taken out the glove box, part of the console and same other stuff, when his mother came home. She panicked and ran inside to grab the Polaroid to document the mess for the insurance agent. (She still reminds me of this whenever I see her.) Anyway, once I pulled out the fake-wood fascia around the instrument panel gauges, I found a nice oval hole in the dash and there were the wires leading to the dashboard speaker. With that addition, my friend had the best ride at Durham High - a new 350 Firebird with an 8-track, Midland CB and PA speaker tucked behind the grille.

I had a friend in HS with an 8-track recorder -- nothing like gathering up albums, going to Radio Shack to get some blank 8-track tapes, and then having to plan out what songs to record on each track to minimize Art's complaint! Imagine the fidelity -- recording to that cheap, slow 8-track tape a record with its hiss and cracks (if not a low frequency woofer killing warp too), taking it to car to listen to it through a pair of 6x9 "co-axial" speakers with a low power, distorting worthless 8-track player. Welcome to the 70s. (saying this as someone who just refoamed the woofers in a pair of Advent Legacy vintage speakers from 30+ years ago, :D Next up, a pair of Epi A120s).
