Has a built in GPS, Accelerometer, and is waterproof. Can't find any info on how high precision the GPS is, but it looks pretty cool. I've been putting off buying a GoPro. I wonder if this is a good alternative.

The GPS based start/stop trigger system sounds interesting. It has a large feature list. This is a really new product right? I think you will have to wait and see how it works out. I think the biggest issue with GoPro is stability issues. In that it is not just quite a rock solid device that you can trust to work when you need it. Given the wide feature set of this Garmin, I can see them also having issues as well (at least at first). My point being that I think it is much easier to make a simple action camera than one that supports WiFi, GPS, blah, blah...

Money can't buy happiness, but somehow it's more comfortable to cry in a Porsche than a Kia.

What does this do that your current setup doesn't? Your smartphone app and OBDII link make very useful information already. Is it just newthingitis or something else?
