I saw this post come across my Facebook feed today. Very sad. My thoughts and prayers go out to the Ingerslew family. I always had a fun ride in that car of his!

This posting is from Jim Ingerslew, Don's son. I wanted to let his facebook friends know that he past away Friday evening. He had a severe case of pneumonia and was unable to beat it. This was all very surprising as he was so vital and so active. We will be celebrating his life on Friday afternoon at 2:00 at St Francis of Assisi, 11401 Leesville Rd, Raleigh, NC 27613.

His family would enjoy hearing from you as it has been wonderful to hear how he touched people's lives in ways we didn't know.

Please share your stories here and we will share them amongst the family.

Thank you so much for being his friend. He appreciated everyone of you very much.

Jim

I am so saddened to hear this. He was a great, vibrant part of the club. He was the first one to greet me at my first meeting and has always been a friendly face. I will miss him.

I'll miss Don and his warm greetings and love of motorsports and good humor. His family is in my thoughts

Man o man, sad news. Don sure was one of the most kind hearted and funny people I've met in my life. Multiple times he's come to an event in his Pilot and helped out all day and didn't even participate (if the Cobra was having issues or if it had a forecast for rain). I feel for his family.

It'd be nice to get a crowd of THSCCers at his funeral next Friday. I will be attending.

I was completely shocked to hear this. I knew he was in the hospital, but figured he'd be out soon and back on track w/ his famous smile. I had just sat beside him at the last meeting....can't believe he's gone, he'll be truly missed by his extended THSCC family. I'll be there this Friday.

I talked to a friend of his Family (Ray Curtis in the Red Panoz for those of you that do track) and they were trying to get a count of how many of us were going to be there. A few have already posted, but for those that haven't, go ahead and confirm here and I'll get them an answer later this evening.

Don was truly a great man and will be missed by many. He was always one of the first to offer to lend a hand whether it be with event set up, a busted car, or whatever you needed. He's helped with the autocross program in numerous ways over the years and also picked up the slack a number of places in the track program and was overall a huge asset to the club. I'll miss seeing yellow #64 going round the track.

Terribly sad. He was always quick with a warm welcome, freindly conversation and a smile. Last saw him working hard for the club as usual at the annual tech inspection 2/16. I'll be there Friday.

We all thought Don would pull through. We were saddened by the news. Don was a good guy and a gentleman. Sharon and I plan on attending the service on Friday.
