It's funny how things snowball. First I needed a new mobo just to enable the 160GB drive I bought. Of course I need a processor. Might as well buy a new case, since my old PS is aging. What's that? I need new memory? OK. Wait - my 2x AGP card won't work now (won't even plug in). Off to by an ATI Radeon 9600 8x card.

Can't just pop the new drive in, so I need to reload the OS. Can't find my Win2k CD, might as well upgrade to XP - which just went and bought at lunch.

At this point the "only" thing I'm swapping over is my $10 floppy drive :)

How did I go from $100 to $600 so easily?!?

;)

As I understand it, XP reports installations back to the mother ship to verify a valid certificate. Even if there are ways around it, I'd prefer not to be exposed like that at this point in my life!

Will that K6-2 motherboard fit into a Micro-ATX case? If so, would you sell the motherboard (and possibly the hard drive) seperately or are you just trying to sell it all as a package? I've got an older Compaq machine I need to repair.
