So while driving this past weekend I ran over a rock I could not avoid punching a hole in my oil pan. Currently the car is stuck in charlotte and my friend would like it out of his yard preferrably by end of friday.

Is there anybody that has a trailer I can borrow? if so I would be glad to work something out with you. I will be pulling it with a chevy 1500.

Thanks in advance.
jason

I don't have a trailer, but renting one of the U-Haul tow dollies is pretty cheap. Only issue there is telling the rental place what you're towing, they are very conservative with their weight limits.

Jason, check with Rob Harvey. He's in WF and I think still has his old trailer. He's not on the forums much.

I've checked with them and can rent one that will get all 4 wheels off tge ground. But if I can, in looking for other possibly cheaper options then what uhaul wants

Thanks Mike.

that being said, as I dont have a brake controller and from what I am hearing and reading, I think I have decided to opt for uhaul. surge is not the best, but better then nothing.

Just out of idle curiosity (and to help me justify never selling my trailer) how much does Uhaul want for the use of a car trailer for 1 day?

$150-200 out the door, I'm guessing?

not even close. off the top of my head it was 55ish a day plus tax for "local" and 89+tax for city to city. city to city includes 2 days.

It has been a while, but the last time I checked the trailers did not have mileage trackers on them. At least not at the mom and pop uhaul places. Also, you should go to one of these stores on a friday afternoon and wave a little cash around. Instead of going through the corporate website.

I got one for $20/day and they didn't ask any questions about how far I was taking it. I just told them I needed to pick up a broken car.

Have you actually had them rent you something on the side (cash under the table)? I can believe their insurance would let them do that.

Otd for 103 and some change. And someone in front of me was asking for the same trailer but I had the reservation.
