Up in Michigan here, got 3" of the nice slippery white stuff on the roads. RWD Durango on snow tires + a Torsen and no traction control makes for a heck of a good time. (yes, I have snow tires specifically for our yearly 1500 mile trip and I'm glad I do!)

Took the kids out in some parking lots for some old-fashioned 20 MPH opposite lock driving. 5 year old Rachel was giggling, and 8 year old Nathan wanted to know if it was illegal. "Maybe" was all I could come up with.

Anyone know of any nice big open parking lots around 26 mile and Van Dyke? Better than sitting at the in-laws making ginger bread houses :)

I like it when I really don't have to get anywhere. Having grown up in it an d running around chasing girls when I drove Mustangs and Firebirds, I'm pretty used to hanging out the rear end and sliding around. Leaving WV in 33 degree rain with frozen slush this morning wasn't fun though

Liz and I took my STi to the IKEA parking lot in Canton. Lots of room for drifting.

The absolute biggest issue with driving in slippery conditions, even with appropriate tires on your vehicle, is the other guy is far too likely to hit you. With the wrong tires (or black ice) you could be the other guy. I've had too many close calls to enjoy snow/ice driving. Maybe because it was never "just for fun" but rather because I needed or wanted to get somewhere (school, work, ski resort, etc.).

Definitely my biggest fear too. People simply forget that they can't brake at the usual distance and expect to not keep sliding.

Donuts in the snow are always a hoot. :P

I love driving in the snow, even in inappropriately tired cars it can be fun.
