. . . at 50mph with the lights on and the horn blowin'! Not exactly an elusive creature. Sadly, I was not driving the Subaru  that would have been sweet since I hate the car. Fortunately, I was not driving the Bullitt. The kill shot was delivered by the Fusion.

Sooo - body shop recommendations? :?:

Personally, when gave business to Paragon Colision on Capital Boulevard (ask for Jeff) my S2000 came out of the shop clean as a whistle with no imperfections (that I could tell, but I'm no expert) although it took two weeks longer than 'promised'. I think that's par for the course with any shop I've used in car bruising experiences.

Something about seeing a F430 Scud, two DB9's, several //M cars, countless 911's of several eras, and tons of other cool stuff gave me the confidence that it was in the right hands, even if it was just a 10 year old Honduh with almost 100k on the clock.

Glad you were okay Cash! I worry about deer all the time and drive in the passing lane on main highways at night just to get that extra millisecond, but it probably doesn't make much difference as quick as they are.

Hendrick collision in Cary pretty much rebuilt the entire front end of the GTO. Only things they missed was some clips to hold on a front trim piece and the routing of some PS lines. Paint match was perfect (in a heavily metal flaked'd color) and the tires wear perfectly even though 3 out of 4 front frame rails were cut out and replaced.

Funny, we used Haddock in Cary for an accident and they matched the paint well but they forgot to put on a bunch of the clips that hold the undertray on....

I've used Haddock in Fuquay and Estes off of hiway 50, both did decent work.

Paragon did our < 1-year old Saturn (oh, the humanity) when we tagged a deer 9ish years ago. Color match was pretty decent, but attention to detail didn't thrill me - I didn't even leave the lot with it the first time they called it "done" due to runs in the clearcoat. They fixed it, but it didn't leave me feeling good about their service and attention to detail. Maybe things have significantly improved since then...

Haddock was the same. When I first picked the car up the hood didn't align properly and when I asked them about it they said they couldn't repair the hood well enough to make it fit. I told them then they should have gotten a new one. They did but I should not have had to tell them that since insurance was paying. Their paint match was good though

I have not had to use a body shop lately. However Bob Kendrick and his folks have used Capital Collision several times over the years and have been very satified with thier work. They have enven done work on Bob's M-37 fire truck where most shops won't touch something like that.

I used Performance BMW in Chapel Hill, since they are a USAA affiliated shop. I have zero complaints about the work they did for me.

Not sure which you want to restore, but you may want to try Cape Fear Taxidermy http://www.capefeartaxidermy.com

So the insurance company has given me a list to chose from:
Haddock
Gerber
Capital Ford
Auto Shape
Coats

I've heard good things about Coats on S. Saunders. Haddock did some work for us previously and did an adequate job, but I had similar concerns regarding attention to detail. I think if I insisted on another shop the Ins Co would go along, but I don't think I have a passionate opinion.

Any thoughts on the list? I guess I'm leaning toward Haddock for proximity and I feel confident they can do a good job if I double check behind them.
Thanks!

Capital did a great job on our 1997 Laser Red Mustang including paint match a couple of years ago.

So I ended up taking it to Haddock at Wakefield. They had fixed my Mazda from two minor fender-benders in the past and had done good work. They were busy to they sent it down to their Fuquay location - with my permission. Got it back and while the paint looks good I was quite disappointed with the reassembly. The bumper cover wasn't tucked under the headlight assembly on one side, one headlight assembly was clearly higher than the other, the grill was running up hill from left to right. The lip of the hood was rubbing on the grill on the right side. The gap between the hood and fender was 2X on one side versus the other. I can't believe they let it leave the shop that way. Any level of QC check would have noticed the problems.

They've had to disassemble the front of the car and then put it back together again. Its supposed to be ready today. We'll see.

FYI, a coworker has recently had issues with Haddock as well (not sure which location, though he's in SW Cary area). His pristine Nismo 370, which had never even been driven in the rain, was t-boned recently, and their first pass was horrid with tons of crap in the paint, and even their second attempt repainting in their "high end car booth" left a few areas needing attention. And this is after 6 weeks of "working" on it.
