I have to miss this one, but I doubt anyone will cry for me since I'll be in Hawaii. :D

Don't worry, nor will I be crying for my dad who at 67, just told me yesterday that he'll be going to Maui soon to surf Hawaii "before he turns 70". Enjoy. :) Also, I've avoided running for 6 weeks and got some great riding in this summer but with the shorter days approaching I'll be lacing up the Asics much to my dismay.

Keith, it's not too tough of a trail but there are some sections that definitely require a little more momentum than others to make the rock gardens somewhat flowy and to rob less energy. It's easier than Rocky Road for sure. This year, I'll be racing in duo with a buddy from the bike shop. I did the race two years ago and we did the trio and had an unbelievably great time out there as the race was really laid back. One of our laps didn't register due to the chip not transmitting when we came across the starting mat and we were given second place although we did the most laps, but it was so much fun we didn't make a big deal of it because it was just for kicks anyway.

Anyone want to do the 6 Hours of Briar Chapel race in November? Duo and Trio teams are an option if you're not a glutton for punishment.

Matt - Are you planning to go solo or put together a duo or trio team?

Depending on whether my injured hand is fully operational by then (it should be), I'd be up for joining a trio team. (Extremely unlikely I'll be prepared to do a duo or solo race that long by November.)

I've never ridden Briar Chapel, though. How challenging is it compared to, say, Harris or 286?

I could be talked into it. I've ridden BC before, and did OK, I'm certainly not fast though. This would be a good excuse for me to spend more time on the bike.

He's humble. :P

Anybody want to do a 09:00 cruise this Saturday at ORC area??? Let's say crabtree then optional 2/3 of 286, old entrance to new entrance, and the last 1/3rd (new entrance to old) for anyone that wants to do both? No drops ride.

Sounds good to me.

Wish I could join you guys, can't wait to get back out there. Unfortunately, still another couple weeks of PT before I get the green light from the dr.

Get better Keith!

Looking like rain but we can keep an eye on the TriangleMTB and I'll update in the a.m. Until then, 9am at the 286 entrance as it's easier to not park in a giant crater on that side.

WTF? I know for a fact you've ridden over there after a LOT of rain. ;-)

Just joking...better to not if you can help it. I had some hill repeats to do today that I did over at Briar Chapel, and it's looking DARK around here right now, anyway. But coach says tomorrow is a run day, so I can't join you guys.

Looks too wet and there's another line of storms coming.

Riding from the other side of the park so I won't be on the ORC side...
