The TarHeel BMWCCA chapter is once again hosting a Street Survival for young drivers. The event will take place on Oct 27 at the Raleigh PD training center. The issue here is there will not be as many students due to the class rooms and lot size. I will not be able to attend this event, so I’m looking for some volunteers to help out.

I’m in need of…

> someone to drive the bus on Friday to the training center.
> volunteers to help setup the course on Friday. Mike Whitney will be the course lead, need some bodies to lend a hand
> registration is open, so if you have a young driver, now is the time to register
> BMWCCA will be looking for both instructors and course volunteers for Saturday. If you’re interested, please contact Denis Here is he contact info

The Tire Rack Street Survival (TRSS) class for new teen drivers being held on October 27, is now open for student and Instructor enrollment. There are only 19 student openings remaining (class size is 30). If you have a new teen driver and wish to enroll them, please navigate to https://www.motorsportreg.com/ and look for our TRSS event on 10/27.
The school is being held at the Raleigh Police Dept Driver Training Facility located at 8401 Battle Bridge Road, Raleigh NC 27610 from the hours of 8AM-4:30PM.

Thanks Rodney.

Any idea where the bus will be before TRSS and where it should go afterwards?

It really will be at Chris's house, and needs to go back there.

I should be able to volunteer that day as needed. I think Kolu's son will be attending the school.

First, I need a sign up link for potential students. I've got a couple of friends who need/want their kids to attend. If I can swing it, I'll help out. Sending an email. :sing:

Just a typo, I meant to say it really SHOULD be at Chris's house. We've had it left elsewhere a couple times this year, but that really shouldn't happen without all the officers agreeing to it, b/c technically our insurance doesn't like it being parked away from its home for long periods of time. I blame Steve for it.

I think this was already posted, but the SS is looking for additional instructors in order the make this a successful weekend for the students. If you have 4+ years of autox and you can relay instructions and feedback to a young adult driver, then we can use you. Per the information from Phil....

We are 4-5 instructors short for the upcoming Street Survival event in Raleigh on Saturday October 27th. We've got 30 students and only 14 instructors. We need 4-5 more to cover with adequate staff for late changes. If you were planning to sign up and haven't gotten around to it, please do so soon. If you're in the Raleigh vicinity and can help us out, we'd greatly appreciate it.

You can sign up at the event site:
http://www.motorsportreg.com/index.cfm/ ... 33604F01A1

Thanks a bunch!

We also need for someone to drive the bus over the RPD training site on Friday for setup and drive it back on Saturday. I'll throw in a free autox for this weekend if you can help Whitney w/ setup after you deliver the bus.

Denis and Phil can still use some help for course working and instructors, I simply can't make it this year, I will have been gone every weekend and stuff at the house is piling up.

Please post up and let me know you can help. While this is NOT a THSCC sanctioned event, we have a long history in helping out the BMWCCA chapter w/ this wonderful event.

when is all this again. the free autocross from helping mike is enticing. i am fairly sure i will be there on the 27th, because dad signed me up to work. i could go in the wrx, that way if anyone wants a thrill ride(yeah right) all i need is a field somewhere to destroy!
